jay's is a Baton Rouge institution. the same families who went when Floyd was alive continue to go with their grandchildren. Debbie and her crew know your children's names and are learning the names of your grandchildren. their barbecue is delicious. Chicken is delicious and you can get a half. their chopped beef sandwiches unbelievably good. my husband gets a barbecue plate with potato salad and beans and leaves nothing on the plate. it's like home....

I know some people were whining about the sauce,but Jay's BBQ has been a family owned business for 65 years. Had the exact same sauce that they have served forever. Jay's is a a Baton Rouge landmark. The food is all prepared on site, and made to order. The pork is my favorite! And you can always get the sauce on the side. The service is good and the place is well run by the 3rd generation of the family.
